ground source heat exchangers

Anyone looked into these ?? Growing 40% p.a in USA and Europe.
Some nifty patented technologies out of Asia now allow for simply installation in homes and other buildings using the energy in the top 1 to 5 metres of soil (as opposed to the costly and cumbersome 'old' models that require underground piping lengths to 100~150m)
This is micro-generation at its best .... with COPs of 15~17.
Ground Source energy is the most reliable of all renewables , its always there ,,, no need to worry about sunshine hours (solar) , wind or environmental impacts.
Amazingly Australia has not embrassed this technology .... yet!
I would imagine that in 10 years every second house will be heated/cooled by GS systems .... thats a massive market opportunity......imo.

    SALTY
