In Australia, this statistic is simply inconceivable. I think it is common for Australians not to realise how developed our payments systems are here. The concept of tap n go was widely accepted here long before it showed up in the US.

While there is no opportunity for Afterpay in Australia (in this regard), in other markets, Afterpay can be positioned as a much more significant technological disruptor.
