Your points raise a different discussion I think Polar.
US companies having factories in China is different to the likes of Tencent and Huawei having "passive" as you say footprints in the US (with Trump at the helm).
You can cast it even wider and assume that with whats going on between the US and China, any US company with factories in China may also start to worry.
