I think you are talking about lags - in accreditation- by the APVMA ? Nothing that Anatara has not done . The company , pig industry , shareholders , all stakeholders - are awaiting rubber- stamping , approval for reclassification , to be able commercialise Detach domestically and for the world !
The ‘organisation ‘ , is sounding barely organised at All ! At the moment . I am sure some people within must be trying their hardest , you would hope at least.
Irrespective of whether the decision to relocate to Armidale - has many cons , and is not widely supported particularly by contemporary Staff . To me Public Servants are still behaving in their own circumstances, which is a bubble - compared to the general population employees? Most , highly qualified , experienced in their fields, whatever - would not be ‘entitled ‘ as much discussion , Rights around their employment to be able think over end of employment compensations , long- service , family / sickness / relocation expectations , as would be possible in private enterprise . In their decision around their personal circumstances and what they want to do , or are trying to negotiate. I do have sympathy, just saying - the hysteria , apart from fact that Mr Joyce just could blanket decree something like this .
Apparently , a ‘devastating ‘ decision - for many , the over 55% ? as outlined , who have in their own time and for their own circumstances, with over a year to consider their timing and response , considering all including real estate values homes etc - and many have put in resignations or gone . Again - likely fair amount of time before making their own decisions and acting .
Any organisation - irregardless would usually expect - must keep the ship afloat , and work still must be performed ?
In regional areas all of the time - similar family issues are faced . Try even getting to Sporting fixtures on weekends. Hours of driving .
Yes - much on offer on Country Capital city , super convenient for working structures government department , and for investment value home , family likely already “entrenched “, proximity to Sydney , etc etc .
A little plug for Regional centres , which also are producing much . Not a wonder that they can not easily be understood by our main 2/3 capital cities . Where the DECISIONS are made from ., that effect , everybody , as in the entire country .
I feel for people effected .
It is still shortterm and insular circumstances and thinking even so , such enormous outcry . Again - though , I get it .
True , valid concerns- may be able be circumvented -to reasonable degree .
eg. admin mostly left centrally Canberra . Remote employment or meetings - maybe a pay rise , for having to cope with regional location life ?? Maybe a staggered start - remain in Canberra for a time - if ones children really had to stay , in current schools, in final years , or some compelling special needs. ( tongue only slightly in cheek - am really wanting to be fair )
Miraculously - some employees - who could without true pain or lifehealth effects , bring themselves to the adventure of this move .. may come around to the idea more positively ?
& Quite quickly even ? If pay compensation ?
Witnessed the out loud thinking of many employed through federal government employment - working for ADF in civilian sections , for over a decade. Can say it is nowhere near the Rights or way of thinking of the population generally around ?
Those of us who live regionally , are not paid to stay here
It’s certainly not the end of the world , but again- I am Not offering opinion on the relocation merits or larger impracticalities of Armidale department relocation.
Detach - relaunch is however being delayed . Possibly effecting Zoertis decision times . Who knows .
But the performance of the APVMA - everything being regarded as a consequence of the department changes and loss of staff, angst and anger & distressed responses - is disgraceful . IMO .
