Maverick - I'm looking for short term trades (a few days to a few weeks) and for the long term view TA only helps to know where the best place to jump on board is.
ABC and CCL are two that I recently entered where I think a long term hold will work. ABC is already up about 6% and there are indications CCL could rise another 50% from its current price and ABC perhaps double - not that I'll be there for all of that ride. I've got a mate who has owned BHP forever and he's always raving about the dividends - but since he bought in price has been up and down and had he bought on the lows, held long term (as in years) until the uptrend broke and bought back in when price finished falling, he'd be way, way in front (and could have been invested in something else while BHP was in decline).
