Trump wanted to make sure that he had the final say by appointing Kushner (his S-I-L) for oversight on the deal.
He is in lets make a deal mood all over the world, USMCA, Nth Korea, Iran even, Britain soon...but right now the Chinese.
He is a business man, not interested in war, who is president and who is being impeached, but above all he is in election mode.
He will make the biggest announcement on the smallest deal to pump up the markets on the way to the election.
I am long all of 2020.
