These are the type of products that is putting the underlining NPAT figure under pressure as roughly US$40m per annum is going straight into product development.
The software lifecycle can take a few years until it moves from introduction to scaling and to further complicate things software for A.I has no precedent it is still interesting to see how it performs as over the past three years Appen has plowed ~$120m in product development
Return on investment on expensed product development is roughly 3:1 I wonder if this is true for A.I as well...
A.I is not as big as electronics/engineering and accounting software----- yet.
