Ideally investing pays off WITHIN one’s lifetime. So hoping for a reasonable return within 20 years is NOT “expecting too much too soon”… not sure what the point of investment is if you don’t expect decent returns under 20 years. Just give the money to charity then. At least you can feel good about contributing to humanity.
