It's not just gamblers that trade stocks. Gamblers look at strong price movements and place a "bet" that it's going either be sustained or reversed.

But opportunists look at past patterns, especially management behaviour and operational performance, and take advantage of predictable movements. Bad (or mad) management creates volatility. They will create expectations that are followed by disappointment. They will provide inadequate guidance. They will experience sudden, unexpected developments that create turmoil.

By refusing to recognise trading opportunities where they exist you're denying yourself opportunities to profit. That's fair enough, and your right to do so. Nobody should criticise you for that. But by the same token you're not entitled to denigrate those who do.
