Nice little write-up on fishing in the SMH yesterday and highlights why we are in such a strong position at the moment:
    - we don't need to rely on wild caught fish stocks to profit,
    - we are market leaders in Australia in the Salmon and Prawn industries,
    - we have a proven track record and built processes and procedures for sustainable food production,
    - there are strong barriers to entry (highly capital intensive and permits are required to farm to ensure they are done so ecologically sustainably),
    - salmon and prawn demand is continuing to increase with a decline in wild fish stock (= people turn to farmed fish).
    All positives.
    - financially strong position with manageable debt and defensive income (people need to eat)

Potential downside, climate change could risk our fish farm viability in the long term but this is mitigated somewhat with controls and regular testing/compliance to ensure we aren't harming our fish.

Why are fish wars heating up all over the world?
