Very interesting landscape the EV global supply.

US have made clear their protection policies.

EU has more penetration historically with brands in China. I don't know a lot but see China displacing EU brands in China simply by quality improvements and competitive pricing that could squeeze out EU traditional past popularity.
Then there is the likes of say VW in China making cheaper to then ship to EU markets and compete more favourably on pricing to home based EU brands which will not be seen in good light.
Similar to some Tesla models being manufactured in China and shipped to US markets.
One thing is certain in that multi billions have been invested by all players and as SD states - the numbers visible on today's roads is formidable and picture 2030 and beyond. Along with more and more visible wind farms that we are just becoming accustomed to seeing whereas in the past it was wow - check that out. Then the massive offshore farms. Quantum computing - tech and robotics and the ghastly military large increased consumption.
