Two relevant news stories in recent days.

(1) Reports of the losses being recorded by China's rare earth miners. Search "Chinas state rare earth players bleed red ink as prices fall". Interestingly, officers of the companies are quoted and financial information is reported. Quite surprised this was allowed to be reported. For those can't be bothered reading - the short point is that the articles confirm the pain being felt in China due to the collapse in REE prices. How long can the CCP continue to suppress prices when its own companies are publicly crying poor??

(2) Reports overnight from the US about new chip related tariffs to be introduced by the Biden administration. This caused a pull back amongst semiconductor stocks overnight. Another chapter in the trade dispute between the US and China (and we know what levers China likes to pull in response...)
