ARA - unloved and ignored for no good reason. To be sure it is a LIC, so you would expect a discount of around 20 per cent or thereabouts on NTA but not 40 per cent. All its investments carry little downside and, in some cases, considerable potential. Its balance sheet is solid, and Gary Weiss is an experienced operator - a "steady eddie". A bit stingy on dividends perhaps but he concentrates on asset growth and plays a long game. I remain a patient long-term holder.
