Toshiba has also a new tv technology called SED, basically a RGB tube but instead of an electron gun and raster scan hence the need for tube size. It is a flat panel with a flat array firing electrons directly to the phosphors. Hold off until you can compare the two I know how my missus would be if I forked out for second best.
