I think that you have touched upon a significant point with your call that completely different players will be eyeing this deal trombone.

Small retail investors such as us (who dominate the threads on HC, although I am sure institutions glance at it), are less likely to salt money away for a few months on a gimme as presented. Those with the proverbial deep pockets could well be waiting for the entry point of their choosing.

Predictably, we have seen a huge increase in comments and some confusion/uncertainty. As the dust settles I suspect that, whilst the Chinese have gained a bargain, we too should be careful not to step-off a moving train I reckon. These guys do not throw money away.

I am trusting that those here with the wear-with-all to seriously analyse the situation (and are prepared to share their views candidly), will see that after the initial stir, the deal is one that has brought deserved attention to GDO. Attention that will see the sp present as attractive.

I am a SMSF bod so AIMVHO, however I agree that the likes of the larger institutional investors could be eyeing it off, withou declaring their intentions.
