Only a broker can sell 10 shares unless of course it is the remainder of a mostly executed sale. Retail must trade in $500 size parcels. Different rules for different folks.
The AIM market makers act as a wholesaler...or as some say a-hole-saler. There is no transparency...your broker sources a price from the market maker which may be completely different from the on screen price.The market maker can also work an order ahead of yours. I've closed my account because the fees and constant bs killed the experience.
