I think you have pretty well captured how it ostensibly is. There has been a lack of probity in the whole process. All I know is that it is very grubby with RIM in bed with a convicted fraudster. Arbitration kicks off on Wednesday this week. RIM has received $Ms from GPR, and seek to walk from the deal and keep the monies. Those with artificial intelligence opine that this is OK. I'm not privy to more than what is in the public sphere - but I don't think any equitable forum will ratify RIM's actions.
RIM's Board, and their cohort Giovinazzo, will have their conduct examined this week. It will all make interesting reading.
The impact of this on RIM's share price can only be negative.
Billis is selling down his holding which says a lot for the future outlook by the company's largest backer. IMO, if Billis want's in - buy up, if he wants out - sell down.
