Indeed, closing deals successfully is paramount. But like Lory said LNC's share price has been hammered several times before by missing expected deadlines. It's not fun watching the shareprice get drilled when the market expects news regarding a deal and management are quiet.

It's annoying because the deadlines are set and announced by LNC themselves but often when the time comes we don't hear anything. I guess they figure in the long-term it doesn't matter as long as a deal is done but it does cause short-term share price damage which is quite unnecessary. LNC really needs to have better communication regarding deal progress updates with the market especially during deadlines!
