The earth is billions of years old!
The arctic has been there for many many millions of years.
I feel a few billion is close enough.
And we have looked at the last 30 of those years only???
Thats a bit like looking at the last 30 seconds of trade in a year and drawing conclusions over the full year. Not very scientific.
