DDT belongs to the organocholine family and causes death mainly by asphyxiation,ie,it causes irreversable nerve damage and locks out Acetylcholinesterase.

Used as a nerve gas ingrediant in the 1st World War.

Farmers loved it because of what it did to ticks etc and even used to mix it up in drums using bare arms as paddless .
The effect on their systems of course was similar to Parkinson so many were mis dianosed, many sad stories.

    It is a nerve poison.
