svl's real issue is that the deposit is right next to/underneath a decent sized group of people that doesnt want to move or have their amenity affected. Thats the source of the pushback and the legal reasons are just symptoms.
and thats the read through the market will make - that in NSW esp immediate proximity to significant populations is problematic.
(up until much higher metal prices shift govt priorities)
but i do agree with you that people shouldnt be happy for svl's difficulties. Schadenfreude is a disgusting facet of some humans.
