WEST WYALONG


It is worth keeping an eye on Argent . Argent ( ARD) is currently drilling at West Wylong,, with the potential for either additional gold discovery or a very significant copper gold porphyry.

Regional
Gilmore Suture and gold/copper mines/deposits – A very prospective address-both regionally West Wyalong and approximately 350 kilometers west of Sydney.


Local
The historic , high grade West Wyalong goldfield ( averaged 54 grams per tone !) lies 3-6 kms to the west and north west- see the outline of the reefs on Figure 2 in the ASX announcement. The gold bearing fluids that enriched the West Wyalong reefs may well have been produced by a large intrusive body at depth and the very large, coincident gravity and magnetic anomaly indicates the location of such a body.



The fact that Argent has drilled 4 vertical holes into different parts of the anomaly ( kilometers apart) and intersected 2 high grade gold reefs ( 2 m@ 19g/t in Hole APG003 and 2m @ 22.4 g/t in the current hole ) suggests there may be a host of gold bearing reefs within the anomalous area. .A further indication of the potential in the area where drilling is now taking place are the extensive copper and gold soil anomalies in the vicinity of the current hole

To the North
The Barrick owed Cowal mine is located 32 kilometers north of West Wyalong. (http://www.barrick.com/GlobalOperations/AustraliaPacific/Cowal/default.aspx )

In 2008, Cowal produced 191,000 ounces of gold at total cash costs of $673 per ounce. Proven and probable mineral reserves as of December 31, 2008 are estimated at 2.8 million ounces of gold.
