    The US political philosophy is different than ours at its basis.

    The US was born from a revolution against a tyrannical government. That is the basis of their constitutional "right to bear arms" and gun culture. Americans are taught that there is a right and indeed a duty for good citizens to overthrow a tyrannical government.

    That is very different to our base.
