    hanrahan,

Some are young and idealistic. They believe what they are told. They haven't lived through a recession or seen what happens when interest rates skyrocket.

Some work for the government. They are highly unionised and regimented in their thinking and their work practices and will vote Labor every time.

Some are Green voters, and genuinely and sincerely care for the environment and think the Greens are the party best suited to those aims.

Some are uninterested in politics altogether, and simply vote for the party that promises the most, not thinking at all of the issues or who will pay for those promises.

Some are rusted on, and vote the same way NO MATTER WHAT, because their Dad did, or they are somehow attached to the public service or unionised workforce etc.

And some are just plain stupid. Dumb as a brick. And just turn up, tick the box and go home.

Thankfully, the % of people in all the above categories is slowly dwindling out (Darwin principle?) and therefore their ability to influence the rest of us is also diminished.
