which gets back to my original point
If the only income is share trading there is no need to register for GST and registering to claim back 75% of the GST on brokerage is not worth the time and effort of going through the process preparing BASs
of course that is only a general view and individual circumstances like the volume of trading and amout of brokerage paid need to be considered.
