Hi, was just wondering does anyone know the stance of the ATO regarding CFDs and determination of trader status? Specifically, if you're a high frequency CFD trader, would that have any impact on whether the ATO considers you a trader or investor for tax purposes?
I understand the tax treatment is different, so figure they may consider these type of transactions entirely separate from any standard trader transactions.
