    Hmm, I fear that the true education of Australians is reducing. Not advancing. Maybe not formally, but there seems to be a dearth of truly smart people around. This was very evident when the GFC hit in 2008, many so-called smart people running various funds, banks, brokers etc, showed themselves to be pathetically dumb.

    I do take your point though.


    Yes, OP, its not rocket science is it? Actually one of the most efficient aluminium smleters in the world is in New Zealand South Island. Somebody had the bright idea to drill a hole in the bottom of Lake Te Anau to let the water drain to the ocean by itself, through an underground power station, no dam necessary. The power is primarily used by the Invercargill smelter. The station is 200 metres underground so not even the pristine environemt is compromised. Brilliant.
