I'm one of those whose beliefs are rooted in Science. I try hard not to be offensive to those who are addicted to religious belief / practices but when red lines are crossed causing other people to damaged / truth to be dispensed with it's another matter altogether.
In Australia religions are heavily protected and privileged species. They're even registered as 'charities' so they can avoid paying tax even though some make $Billions and export $Billions to their home bases overseas.
Some even engage in dictating to their followers how to vote come election time - in my seat of Indi at the 2022 Election the pamphlets distributed by the Australian Christian Lobby to voters targeting Helen Haines were offensively sickening and IMO should have been called out by the major political parties.
