Attempted to sign in via another country to see how “weak” the security is.... can confirm does not work without a local phone number, Google reCAPTCHA and email verification process. They really don’t want fake accounts registering and wasting their time...
Unfortunately like everything else Australia has to wait for the rest of the world to try it out first.
