As per below from google the hybrid cars use around 20% of the graphite used for EVs. I think there will still be huge demand for graphite whatever the percentage of EVs and Hybrids are.
On average, 110 pounds of graphite is used in an electric car, while
hybrid cars use around 22 pounds. Lithium-ion batteries need 20 to 30 times more graphite than lithium in production.
The total car sales for the USA in 2023 was approx 15,500,000, of those 1,400,000 were EVs and approx 1,200,000 Hybrids. This equates to approx 17% of total cars.
The amount of PSG required for that amount of EVs in 2023 in the
USA using a 60kg average/vehicle would be 84,000 tonnes.
The amount of PSG required for that amount of Hybrids in 2023 in the
USA using a 12kg average/vehicle would be 14,400 tonnes.
This equates to approx 16.8% of total cars
So a total of
98,400 Tonnes of PSG/Year required for the USA market based on the 2023 numbers.
In 2023,
more than 3 million plug-in electric cars were sold in
Europe.
The amount of PSG required for that amount of EVs in 2023 in Europe using a 60kg average/vehicle would be
180,000 tonnes.
I don't have the figures for Hybrid vehicles sold in Europe.

Both EVs and Hybrids are growing in overall market share percentages substantially in Europe and the USA plus in most other countries.
With the production of 1 tonne of Pure Spherical Graphite requiring 2 to 2.5 of graphite concentrate the requirement for graphite concentrate as per the 2023 statistics was approx
300,000 tonnes just for the USA and Europe.
You can imagine going forward that the demand for graphite worldwide will have to increase substantially to keep up with the uptake of both Hybrid and Electric vehicles.
Whilst the EV take up may not be as fast as anticipated the governments of most countries are committed to reduce the use of fossil fuels and importantly most individuals are on board to aid in the reduction of global warming.
For RNU, I believe the potential for the Siviour project is huge and I'm sure the big players in the EV sphere are engaging with management. The company has a lot going for it compared to its peers, the big one being that they have 124 million in the bank and a conditional government loan of 185 million. Good numbers to have when potential customers want to talk, along with a great ore body , tier 1 mining jurisdiction and all permits and licences already in the bag. I don't know of any other potential graphite miners in the same boat.
For all shareholders , be patient , it may be a bit longer than we though but I believe there is a reward coming in the not too distant future.
