Weed probably is a gateway to other illegal drugs.
The question is, will it still be , if it is not illegal. It will be interesting to see the outcome of legalisation in the various states of the USA that have gone down this route. Any diversion from stimulant drugs to this would be a positive, in the end it is the reduction in the sum total of harm that is important. Prohibition has done a lot more harm than good.
