If NZ don't want to keep him, then put him in a box.
The crime was committed in NZ so this is where the sentence should be carried out.
The Police should've put a bullet in him in the first place. They wanted to make an example of him, then its their duty to incarcerate him.
Do the crime, do the time. He was charged, judged and jailed in NZ, then this is where the sentence should be carried out.
Once/if he is paroled then by all means ship him back to Australia.
