Predict anything long enough and it MAY come true. Sure growth will slow down or stop for a while in the overall market but it is extremely unlikely that we will see anything that happened overseas like in the US. Like it or not the world is beginning the road to economic recovery (which will take many years) and the reality is Australia in the grand scheme of things didn't really feel much of the fallout.
