Whilst the increase in the price of gold has helped, I don't think it was the primary reason the SP has risen in recent times. Speculation that Lihir will make an offer, and the market recognition of an undervalued stock were very much the drivers IMO.
Where's all the gossip on Lihir gone. It's gone very quiet on this topic.
