It's well known that when interest rates are high... banks are able to make a bigger margin. I am wondering if the same applies to supermarkets selling fresh food? If veges double in price from say $3-$6/kg.... is it likely WOW and others will cream-off a bigger slice at the higher price? My hunch says they do. Anyone with retail experience who can enrich thread is much appreciated.
