if we do a comparison of the sp for PGF we find over a 10 year period it's risen 80.3%.
(I have risen 98% - the different dunno don't care maybe timing)
over 10 years IVV has risen 131%. so IVV ETF has outperformed on a capital appreciation basis.
however PGF are currently yielding 5.6% not including franking, and that yield is pretty safe for a year. it's always yielded a lot but years and years ago they groaned but being under NTA. so in super we are getting back ~9%
IVV yields 1-1% unfranked.
it's going to be an uphill battle to convince PGF retirees that they are better off in an index.
