There is a vast difference in expected return depending on what casino game you play, and the same is true for how you trade and invest in the stock market. You can do trades or investments on the stock market that are almost guaranteed to profit (AAA.AXW for example, which is currently returning 4ish% pa) or you can do riskier actions that have a high potential return but a very high risk. I guess what I'm trying to say is its a complicated question to answer.
