I don't think that the market is watching AUT's share price. I think that it is watching ADI's, and that is in a special situation. AWE has set a floor price for ADI and AUT is gearing off that. Some of the displaced ADI investors will want to stay invested in the project. Perhaps early days, but there could be a level of forced migration to come. Firstly, ADI has to publish its defence. Then the eyes will be on AWE and whether it will raise its offer. A winning offer should have an element of control premium but current price levels are below the brokers' out-of-date short-term price targets anyway.
