The DIFFERENCE between private schools and universities is that ANYONE who wants to go to university (as long as they get reasonable scores) is able to do so... It is a truly open system
BUT! NOT everyone who would like to go to a private school can do so. Everyone's tax money goes into supporting private schools (which btw pay their profits as dividends!) but not everyone is free to exercise their desire to attend private school. WHY? because they have to pay a lot of $$ on top.
do you see the difference?
and before you start blathering, don't mention scholarships because they exist for secondary and tertiary education equally and are a miniscule fraction of total attendance... they are used to entice the top 0.5% of students.
