that's fine... good on them for their hard work.

but the problem is that there are literally tens of thousands of families that work very hard and still, at the end of the day, cannot afford to send their kids to private schools... this is the simple reality.

BUT! THEIR taxes went into supporting the private school system so that other families/kids could go and pay less for it.

the difference between tax payer support for private schools and tax payer support for universities is that UNIVERSITIES are truly open to EVERYONE.

private schools MOST CERTAINLY are not!

"if you truly want it you will find a way"

god I hate this mentality. It's actually offensive.

you have cancer? ... oh well you just need to pull up your socks, knuckle down and approach the problem with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE! *smiles* if you truly want to get better, you will find a way" la la la la - oh what a wonderful day

Can't afford to send your kids to private school? ... oh, well, I won't bother to try to understand your situation... maybe you're on a low income AND taking care of your sick/elderly parent at home ... maybe you have an injury that means you need to take prescription pain killers with drowsiness side effects ... maybe you grew up in a bad home and are only now getting an education (at, say 30 years of age) ... maybe any one of a MILLION different circumstances that make things like private schools a distant pipe dream ... BUT NO! la la la, if you truly want it, you will find a way ... and if you CAN'T, the ONLY conclusion is that you're too lazy to deserve it ... la la la"

    simplistic nonsense doesn't solve problems.

    practical solutions solve problems.
