Thank you for that invaluable advice and information.

I have been investing/speculating for 5 and a half years without any real plan, except to buy things that are likely to be in an uptrend. Gold companies have been my main focus since March 2009. I keep getting done-in by the many swings along the way. My other main problem is not knowing when or if to sell, ie I have no real exit strategy in place for each company I hold.

After getting badly mauled once again I am now thinking about these basic elements of investment.
