https://thedriven.io/2021/10/22/tesla-may-have-cut-10gwh-deal-with-byd-to-make-more-cobalt-free-cars/@nurseryI think there is a lot more going on ' behind the scenes ' than to simply suggest that the SP will not move until Production and sales. And obviously there will be a lot of stuff that happens in-between which will inspire gradual bursts of re-rate along the way.
Plus you comment about the sideways midpoint action is premised on the idea that there is a significant different seller to that of a different accumulator.
I do agree with your comment thought , that the SP will NOT be determined by a Chart. Because with the ' significant ' news which is known to be outstanding apart from comparison's of valuation to our peers is pretty much in ' Unchartered ' territory.
And just observing one conversation over the last couple o days where someone stated that Tansim had no ' RESERVED ' hesitation or impact on the SP is not quite a fair statement. Because it potentially has an effe t to the extent that we CANNOT even get in to drill , define , and prove upwards the present resource estimates which are largely only ' Conceptual ' in nature.
Offsetting this loss of 4,200 metres of drilling on the already drilled 3,400 metres at Tansim is of course is the fact that we await the 4,500 metres of expansion drilling on the already JORC proven Authier project as well as the 42 ' untested ' holes from the estimated 12,000 metres of previous drilling on the NAL existing NI-43-101 comprable Canadian JORC equivalent resource.
So 16,500 metres of drilling verses only 4,200 metres which we can't currently get moving. Nevertheless , the current problems with Tansim are like stating that we can't undertake further drilling at Moblan to take the resource from 14 MT to 20 MT as against potentially taking Tansim from 5 MT to 15 MT ....and then perhaps 20 to 25 MT. And all because of lack of local community indigenous support for the cooperative and mutual environmental shorter term impacts. As far as I can see by the prospective Tansim CDC claims is that they are well away from the La Simard lake and other waterway tributaries and more following along the already cleared pathways of the High Voltage power line areas.
Apart from all these rather MINOR delays in the Tansim proposed drilling and the impact or contributions it may or may not have to the sideways actions on the SP , we have ALL these other MAJOR issues happening in the overall EV and Battery and Battery Components Industries in Ontario and potentially Quebec.
And just as an example in stringing a couple of these recent announcements over the last week or so would see that there is a HUGE amount of contestability building in the posturings in the Industry with last weeks C$5.5 billion investment in the ' wholesale ' transformation of Quebec's Bus and Coach transportation networks.
So when you look at it more closely , you would have seen that that announcement at the time had virtually NO effect on the overall Bus & Coach manufacturers. Even now , you will see that the local mob Lion Electrics share price is down 4.40% last night , 12.20% in the last 5 days , but up 16.67% in the last month whereas NFI Group Inc was up 1.02% last night , 1.62% in the last 5 days and only 8.34% in the last month.
Now while those TWO major Canadian and North American electric bus and coach manufacturers are significant in their own right , the BIG one for me is BYD who was up 1.81% in yesterdays trade , 2.41% over the last 5 days , and 25.39% in the last month.
The other significant points of interest with BYD is that NOT only do they have a manufacturing facility in Newmarket Ontario ....which is only 33 minutes or 31.6 kilometres from where Tesla is setting up in Markham Ontario , they also have a battery manufacturing facility in Lancaster Pennsylvania which is 7 hours 31 minutes or only 438.2 kilometres away from Markham , and it has been well rumored and discussed to be in a proposed 10 GWhd LFP battery deal with Tesla for what is estimated to be around 200,000 50kWh BYD new ' blade technology ' LFP's per year. ( refer above article link from Driven )
You can also see in the article that they stated a distance to Tesla of 800 kilometres which must be the Tesla Facilities in Michigan. If I remember correctly , there were some regulatory issues and requirements for Tesla at Michigan , hence maybe their shorter distance move to Markham Ontario.
Anyway , the point being here is that you can ALL see that there is much much more going on behind the scenes with the FIRST BIG step in transforming the more Government controlled and influenced public transportation sector which in itself is HUGE because it potentially creates even more urgency with the competing other interests from the likes of Tesla and the overall private EV sector.
