    not in western France (north or south or centre). Rivers are once again this year looking perilous and the wet has barely started. Oh and they seem to have skipped autumn.

    I wonder how the BBC explained the dreadful floods across England last winter. Tanzania had drought then floods.

    in many of those countries where there has been drought there has been severe deforestation or poor water management. Spain is a good example. They haven’t just diluted olive oil they’ve wasted water as they tried to create an olive based economy. South America and the Amazon 1 severe deforestation. Same across parts of Asia where not that long ago they had appalling floods and landslides. In Central Asia - well who’d have thought growing water guzzling cotton in a country with low rainfall. Was a good idea

    in Tanzania there are some excellent example of reforestation/replanting using innovative water and soil management and that is starting to impact climate in those areas. In others poor understanding of health and water management and low motivation isn’t helping much
