haha... not quite. I have to sell it to realise a "true gain" However, when I do it will be used for a substantial deposit on my first home and to write off some other losses (Timbercorp!) (I know it's boring).
I guess I can write off my Timbercorp losses as a capital loss when and if I make a gain from karoon.
