Benchmarking of ore production costs are not generally used in the mining industry.....rather it is the cost of product produced.
In particular - what is know as the All-In Sustaining Costs (AISC) is the common metric in the gold industry, for the production of a unit (1 ounce) of gold.
A compelling case has been presented by OBM via the ASX to get their current AISC costs down. In fact both companies have been, or are about the same AISC .....unfortunately though, because of grade........the other company have no scope for their open pit operation to be successful.
Again to look at the grade OBM 2.6 g/t verse 1.06 g/t.
