Another good news, worth another thread ? maybe not but at least it is real news !!
At least we now know at 100% that KP is pushing for gas and more than just with his words....
SO ARE WE NEXT !!‘No surprise the anti-everythings are against gas’: Resources Minister
31/03/2021|8minResources Minister Keith Pitt spruiked Santos’ $5.2 billion investment in the Barossa project for the positive impact it will have on Australia’s post-pandemic recovery – downplaying concerns about the production of emissions. The project will see gas piped from the Barossa field about 300 kilometres offshore for processing at the Darwin LNG plant. Mr Keith said the investment would be a “20 year life expansion” for Darwin LNG and was a “vote of confidence” in Australia’s resources sector. Probed about the Australia Institute’s claim the development of the project would be catastrophic for the environment and fast track climate change, Mr Pitt said Santos released a plan with provisions for carbon targets. Some groups considered the project counter-intuitive due to the Northern Territory adopting a 2050 zero-net emissions target. “The anti-everythings are against everything, that’s no surprise to me,” Mr Pitt told Sky News. He pointed to a report released by the Office of the Chief Economist which forecasts the resources sector will "break all records in a COVID year"."We expect more than $296 billion worth of exports from resources and energy, that is more then we’ve ever done". “That’s off the back of the hard work of the men and women in the sector and I think they should be congratulated not opposed,” he said. “I’m confident they [Santos] will do exactly what they said they would; they’re an Australian company delivering Australian gas for the benefit of all Australians.”
