Disco Stu, I think you are confused or are confusing the issue here. Country people are overwhelmed because they have a dislike for the fast pace, business and unfriendliness of cities. It is not because they haven't got life experience. On the contrary, many country folk do not come from affluent families, are not highly educated and are likely to have seen or experienced hard times. A lot of country people have skills that would put an educated, rich city slicker to shame. They are up at 4am milking the cow that the rich uni grade orders in his latte and the only cow that he has seen is maybe at the annual show. You get the gist.

Anyway, the generalisation is that these sorts of people have university degrees and are likely to come from upper to middle class families and generally in the city. I've met these sorts. They are total left wing. They would have absolutely no idea what it is like to live in a low socio economic area. They protest and make a noise about issues that have little knowledge or experience in. Other than what they have learnt in a book. Basically, they are strong in opinion, but have no skin in the game.

A perfect example was about a month ago. A young university graduate was outside parliament house protesting about abortion. The media made a fool of him because the issue he was protesting and the crap he was speaking had absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand, which was acknowledging an unborn child as a person in the case of murder or manslaughter against a mother.

The media tore him apart because he sounded really educated using wonderful academic words and he was very forthcoming of his opinion apart the issue. Only problem was, he had no clue what the issue was.

It's all too familiar. Make a noise for the sake of making noise, even if you have no skin in the game. A lot of the B persons make a lot of noise, they sound smart, but scratch the surface and they often lack a lot of substance. Most of their experiences are learnt from a book or they just want to be anti establishment because they think it is cool. No one cared about their opinion all of their lives and now they have their platform to shout to the masses.

Anyway
