Don't bet on the fact that the US don't want it LTI.

I reckon the US are using metalstorm technology already in their missile defense I believe they are using the frill neck lizard technology in their missile defense, they won't tell us, but I am willing to bet that they are, as Sean said it is the only viable technology that works in space, the reason for that I believe is it's precise timing in firing, it fires one shot in one direction and a dummy shot in the exact opposite direction, which nullifies any recoil effect, without this the missile would be thrown completely off course, you cant get that precise timing with conventional weaponry.

I hope Sean has the intestinal fortitude to tell us more about what has really happened, warts and all.
