I started to take note of PZT sensor's (Acellent TechOriginally posted by compintnologies,) around 2014 but not sure how developed they are . I do believe they were put on 2 Delta aircraft in last round of testing.I would recommend you look up file called Impentation of SHM at Delta Lines couple years old but gives a good run down on history of SHM and path taken.This has being a long journey but we are closer now then ever this Industry is tough industry for change so many vested interests. But change has to come to modernize this includes the FAA and they are slowest for good reason to allow add on technology to aircraft they want what ifs covered.
