I guess despite the selective picking of prices/dates, it still gives a broad overview of the trend in place.
You would think that there would be some awareness of ECS in the institutional arena. There are analysts working for these firms FT and are either overlooking it, are completely unaware or as I strongly believe, misunderstood. The longer we can trade at a discount and I can continue to add to my holdings, the more long term return I expect on my investment. I’m similar to a few where I must be reasonably close to a Top 20.
On the inverse, investment analysts rarely scan non-mining companies with market caps this low. Add in many being burnt by the industry a few years back before any were in production and purely a speculative play. Add in that Australian media has minimal exposure of the industry. It’s quite reasonable to see why ECS seems a little invisible to a wider audience. I know that people who I interact with professionally who utilise medicinal cannabis products are generally transitioning from opioids and from a lower socioeconomic class. Two ‘varieties’ of people that those working in investment banking would seldom interact with. So they just aren’t hearing about the real-world impacts. It’s a silent transition, a pervasive change, unspoken unless you interact with people involved. And my best investments have categorically been those where I have observed a social trend before others have and as you can tell, do thorough research to find the company/s that I believe are best positioned to capitalise on that.
I do hope that social perceptions change, when they do, ECS may again trade on the speculative level is historically has. Where a P/E of 40-50 can be traded on. Once deviated far enough from the mean and we’re overvalued, I find an exit to freehold. That is my personal strategy, and would be a similar one to many smaller funds involved in the small cap space.
Without a financial advice license, I’m unsure if I could disseminate any of my research legally.
Too often HC is used to hype or pump a stock based on unsubstantiated information. Rarely do people get exposure to the quality of information and deep insights that Institutions pay decent money for their analysts to produce. Which is what I hope to give an insight on here to those following. I spend too much time on ECS, so I hope that my return on time is worthwhile.
